Showroom

A by-appointment fireplace atelier

The Space Fireplace Services showroom is a working atelier rather than a retail floor. We see clients by appointment, by referral, and in coordination with the design firms and architects we partner with. The format is deliberate. Selecting a fireplace for a contemporary Dallas home is an architectural conversation, not a sales encounter, and the showroom is built to support that conversation.

We are located in the Dallas Design District at a placeholder address that will be confirmed at booking. Please do not arrive without an appointment; we run the studio with one design conversation at a time and will not be able to accommodate walk-ins.

To book a showroom appointment, call 972-360-4030 or email studio@spacefireplaceservices.com.

What is on display

The studio displays working examples across the four primary categories of contemporary fireplace specification.

Linear gas. Sealed direct-vent linear fireboxes from the manufacturers we specify most often, in viewing-window widths from 36 inches to 72 inches. Each unit on display is wired and gas-fed for live demonstration of flame characteristics, control modes, and ambient heat profile. Traditional gas. Sealed direct-vent units configured for traditional applications β€” log sets, hand-finished refractory backing, and architectural face options compatible with carved-stone or painted-wood surrounds. Electric. Two of the better current electric fireboxes from the manufacturers whose flame-effect displays we believe are good enough to specify into a contemporary Dallas project. Electric is increasingly relevant in retrofit and condominium applications and the studio displays the units we stand behind. Mantel and surround samples. A working selection of stone, plaster, metal, and millwork samples in formats that make material specification a tactile rather than a digital exercise. Lueders limestone, Cordova Cream, Carrara, hand-troweled plaster panels, blackened steel, aged brass, and three painted-wood profiles in current production.

Who to bring

The showroom appointment works best when the right people are in the room. Your designer is welcome β€” and in many cases preferred. Your architect is welcome. Your spouse is welcome. The contractor running your build is welcome. The studio has space and seating for a small working group, and the design conversation often benefits from the additional perspectives.

For appointments that include a designer or architect, please mention this at booking so we can prepare the trade-pro materials and pricing structure (see the Trade Pro program).

How an appointment runs

A typical first appointment runs 60 to 90 minutes. The structure is consistent.

Briefing. A short conversation about the project β€” the house, the room, the architectural register, the budget posture, the timeline. We listen rather than present. Walk-through. A guided walk through the studio, with live demonstrations of the categories most relevant to your project. Flame characteristics are different across linear, traditional, and electric formats; seeing the differences in person tends to reset expectations productively. Material samples. Stone, plaster, metal, and millwork samples are pulled and laid out on the working table. Designers and architects will recognize this as a standard finishes-pull format. Specification scoping. If the conversation has progressed to a working specification, we sketch the scope β€” the firebox model, the surround material, the venting approach, the rough timeline, and a directional cost frame. A formal written quote follows the appointment by 48 hours. No sales pressure. The studio is not a closing environment. There is no expectation that you specify, decide, or commit during the appointment. The work of selection happens in the days and weeks after.

Trade pro priority booking

Designers, architects, and credentialed trade professionals receive priority booking. Same-week appointment availability is reliable for trade pros, including for first-time visits. The trade pro priority is supported by the Trade Pro program, which includes 15% trade pricing, dedicated project management, gallery sharing, and a structured spec workflow.

To book a trade pro appointment, mention “trade pro” at booking so we can route you to the right calendar.

Parking and accessibility

The studio has dedicated parking adjacent to the building, with a covered loading area for clients arriving with samples or material references. The studio is single-level, ADA-accessible, with a step-free entry from the parking area. Restrooms are on the same level.

For appointments that involve mobility considerations, please mention these at booking so we can prepare accordingly.

What we do not do

The studio is not a retail showroom. We do not sell directly to consumers without a project conversation, and we do not stock for walk-in purchase. Every fireplace specified through SFS is part of an architectural project β€” either a new build, a major renovation, or a coordinated mantel-and-firebox upgrade β€” and the studio appointment is the first step of that project rather than a transaction.

If you are looking for an off-the-shelf gas log set, a stock electric insert, or a retail-grade fireplace, several Dallas-area home improvement retailers will serve you better than we can.

After the appointment

Within 48 hours of the appointment, you receive a written summary of the conversation, the recommendations, and a directional scope of work for the project. The summary is structured for the next conversation β€” usually a meeting with your designer or architect β€” and is not a sales pitch.

If the project moves forward, the next step is typically a site visit and a formal written quote. If the project does not move forward, we close the file cleanly and remain available if the timing changes.

Booking

Studio appointments are booked by phone or email. Same-week availability is realistic for trade pros; standard residential appointments book 1–2 weeks out depending on the season.
