The Short Version

We’re upfront about this: yes, we use AI tools to help write parts of our website. No, we don’t let AI publish anything without a real person — usually one of our own team — reading it, fact-checking it, and approving it. We also don’t use AI chatbots that pretend to be human. Below is the full breakdown of what AI helps us with, what it doesn’t touch, how we protect your privacy, and how to flag anything that looks wrong. This page exists because we think you deserve to know, not because any law requires it (yet).

Where We Use AI

At Space Fireplace Services, we use AI writing and editing tools (mainly Anthropic’s Claude and OpenAI’s GPT models) for:

  • Drafting first versions of service-area pages, seasonal chimney-safety guides, dryer-vent-fire prevention articles, and FAQ pages;
  • Rewording sentences to make them easier to read for a non-technical audience;
  • Translating our content into Spanish for Houston’s bilingual community;
  • Turning a technician’s quick field notes (“Lvl II insp, smoke chamber heavy creo, recommend sweep + cap, gas line OK”) into a clean, customer-facing inspection summary that reads in plain English;
  • Writing alt-text descriptions of photos to keep our site accessible for screen-reader users (see our Accessibility Statement);
  • Generating structured data and schema markup so search engines understand our pages and show the right info in search results;
  • Drafting internal training materials for our crew so we stay consistent on how we explain Level I / II / III inspections to homeowners.

Every Word Gets a Human Read

Here’s our hard rule: nothing goes live on this website without a real Space Fireplace Services team member reviewing it first. That means we check every technical claim against manufacturer specs (Majestic, Heat & Glo, Napoleon, Lennox Hearth, etc.), NFPA 211 chimney-safety guidelines, NFPA 54 gas-code standards, CSIA (Chimney Safety Institute of America) recommendations, or other industry-respected sources. We confirm prices, service areas, and contact info are current. We have someone with actual chimney-and-fireplace field experience read the page so we catch any subtle nonsense the AI might have written. We do a final human read-through before clicking publish. AI is a drafting tool, not a judgment-call tool.

What AI Doesn’t Touch

Some things stay 100% human:

  • Customer reviews and testimonials (those are real words from real customers, used with permission);
  • Our team bios and “Meet the Crew” content (the techs write their own);
  • Inspection reports, warranty paperwork, signed work orders, mechanic’s-lien-related paperwork;
  • Real one-on-one phone calls, texts, and emails — when you reach out, you reach a person;
  • Photos of real jobs (no AI-generated imagery pretends to be a real chimney we worked on; if we ever use AI illustrations for explanation purposes, they’ll be clearly labeled).

AI Isn’t Perfect — Tell Us When You Spot Something Off

AI sometimes makes up facts that sound right but aren’t. We catch most of these in editing, but if you spot something on our site that looks wrong (a code citation that doesn’t exist, a pricing claim that seems off, a service we don’t actually offer in your part of Houston, a manufacturer instruction that contradicts the appliance manual), please email info@spacefireplaceservices.com and we’ll fix it. We genuinely appreciate the heads-up — it makes the site better for everyone.

Your Privacy and AI

We do not paste your name, your address, your phone number, photos of your home, or any account details into public AI tools. Customer-specific info stays in our internal CRM under the privacy rules in our Privacy Policy. When we use AI to summarize a technician’s field notes into a customer report, that runs through a vendor under a data-processing agreement that restricts how they can use customer data — they can only use it to provide us the service we asked for, not to train their own models.

Search Engines and AI Content

Google, Bing, and the other big search engines say AI-assisted content is fine as long as it’s useful, accurate, and reviewed by humans — which is exactly our approach. We follow Google’s E-E-A-T guidelines (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) and never publish content just to game search rankings. Our authors are credited on every article, and they have actual chimney and fireplace experience.

Chatbots? No Fake Humans.

When you call, text, or email Space Fireplace Services, a real human responds. We don’t use AI chatbots that pretend to be people. If we ever roll out an after-hours triage bot or an automated FAQ responder, it will be clearly labeled as automated, you’ll always be able to reach a real person, and the bot won’t pretend to be a specific named technician.
