A heavy 1980s red-brick surround dominated the living room for all the wrong reasons. We refaced it floor-to-ceiling in honed limestone with a steel-wrapped firebox opening, turning a dated wall into the room's design anchor — no firebox replacement required.

A 1930s Tudor's original wood-burning firebox was beautiful but unused — too much soot, too much effort. We converted it to a sealed gas insert with a hand-laid ember bed and a glass front, so the hearth became a nightly centerpiece instead of a once-a-year chore.

A new-build great room wanted the TV mounted above the gas fireplace — the layout everyone wants and most contractors get wrong. We engineered a heat-managed feature wall with a mantel deflector and vented chase so the screen stays cool and the hearth stays the centerpiece.

A soaring two-story great room had a blank wall and no focal point. We designed and built a full-height custom masonry fireplace — firebox, flue, hearth, and a stacked-stone chimney breast scaled to the ceiling — so the volume finally had a centerpiece worthy of it.
