The Challenge
An Austin couple was building a new home with a great room as the centerpiece. They wanted a modern linear gas fireplace as the focal feature — but the wall location wasn’t on an exterior wall, and venting was a challenge.
Our Approach
- Coordinated with the builder during framing to plan the vent run
- Specified a direct-vent linear gas fireplace appropriate to the room volume
- Installed the unit with a custom non-combustible surround
- Ran the vent through an interior chase to the roof
- Programmed the wall-mounted thermostat and remote
The Result
The fireplace became exactly the architectural feature the couple imagined. It heats the great room efficiently, runs cleanly, and required no compromises in placement.
